TWO CHINA COMPANIES GO TO LAW IN BEIJING

Two leading Chinese companies – TikTok + Tencent’s WeChat – are in litigation at the Beijing IP Protection Court. The issue is the right to stream + the claim by TikTok is for 90m RMB

The lawsuit highlights the changing competitive landscape in China and shows as untrue the Western notion that all Chinese companies are a part of China. Recent Chinese anti-trust law is at the heart of the dispute.

This is further evidence of the emerging business structure within China – a significant new development. China is changing and the development will not be lost on Apple and other leading international companies as they commit more to the Chinese market.

But this was always going to happen. And China would always make the changes when it was ready and had in place appropriate laws and essential experience to supervise the development of business culture – “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics”
