Things were back to normal. The extreme had been beaten. Life could revert to stable. But is that the case?
Nations look to the US + want consistency, predictability + that word again – stability. They don’t get that from Trump. They get inconsistency, unpredictability + instability.
And what happens in Presidential Election 2024? Trump may not run but the Republican candidate will sing the Trump song, speak the Trump language +, if Biden has run into difficulty, Biden may lose.
Back to the world stage + the medium/long term. Who will look to the US + feel re-assured that all is well + the future is safe? This is nothing to do with China but countries will look at China + see stability/consistency/reliability. China is stable +prosperous. It will grow in influence as the US declines in influence because foreign leaders are worried about Washington.
