Bruce Haigh is a former Australian diplomat and now a writer on political issues.
Today, he writes “The US sees China as a strategic rival and trade threat. Rather than seek creative + productive co-operation, it seeks containment. It has sought to conscript regional countries to its narrow+negative narrative. It is the same strategy it employed re Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. It seeks legitimacy+support for dubious undertakings and attempting to isolate + demonise China is a dubious undertaking.”
The UK is following the same line – at the behest of the US. The Uighur genocide allegation is the attempt to demonise China. Eyes need to be wide open here. Examine the evidence. Find the source. Look at the detail. Ask yourself questions. Don’t listen to Adrian Zenz or even trust the BBC.
There is an over-arching anti-China strategy led by the US because the US is being overtaken by China. Is it in UK interests to follow the same goal?
