Is it just one man one vote or is it also about handling the pandemic?
China bore the brunt of criticism when the virus broke at the beginning of this year. “It was a plot to control the world” “It was a cover up” “China bungled”
At the end of the year things look quite different. The UK has 71,000 deaths and rising. And 20,000 more if you include Care Home Deaths. The US figure is much more.
Johnson/Trump failed their people.
Is it an empty observation to note China’s death count? Less than 10,000. But then the reaction from China’s critics – “China lies”. “You cannot trust their numbers”
The truth is authoritarian democracy worked and liberal democracy failed. China took control. The US/UK have never had control.
It is a question of competence – which government’s actions did most to protect its people and which government’s actions did least to protect its people?
