Yesterday I focused on the issue of China + the allegation that China is carrying out Genocide on the Uyghurs.
In a final throw of the dice, the outgoing US Secretary of State Pompeo, overnight, has stated “This genocide is ongoing and we are witnessing the systematic attempt to destroy Uyghurs by the Chinese party-state.” Not true. This is nothing more than a desperate attempt by the US – and the UK – to damage China’s name + reputation as it continues to progress + offer the world a way forward which is fundamentally different to the US/UK model.
Uighur extremists have challenged China with terrorism designed to force China to allow an independent state. The extremist’s violence is well recorded – but never mentioned by Pompeo/Raab.
China is doing things quite differently + successfully. 500m people lifted out of poverty + 140m Chinese tourists travelled the world in 2019 and all returned home. The Chinese have “Never Had It So Good”.
But the Chinese model threatens to diminish the US/UK. Unlike the USSR, China is not collapsing from within so “Attack China for Genocide” in an attempt to destroy China’s image + China’s Appeal.
